Most people associate the word “facilitator”with the training environment. Often, that person at the front of the room leading a training sessions, is referred to as the course facilitator. While it is true that some seminar leaders do “facilitate”, the facilitation role is often important in other areas. For example, the chairperson at a meeting often takes on the responsibility for facilitating the meeting, rather than “running it”. The government employee involved in mediation of disputes between other parties is also a facilitator. Human resources staff members often facilitate discussions in various contexts. And staff that work with groups of stakeholders and members of the public may be well advised to take on a facilitating role rather than a directing one.

Google has announced that website owners, using Google Adsense, in Ghana, Kenya and Uganda can now receive their payments via Western Union in the local currency. Website owners use Google AdSense to display ads on their website and are paid when their users interact click an ad or an ad is displayed to them. Typically website owners using Google Adsense in Nigeria have to use other third-party methods, which add extra costs, to receive their payments.
The United States ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, has disclosed that the United States government has resolved to partner with the Nigeria Police Force in the area of training.
Entwistle made the disclosure yesterday, during a visit to the Force Headquarters where he congratulated the Nigeria Police for their role in ensuring hitch-free polls during the last general elections.
In a statement on the visit, the police spokesman, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the ambassador was full of praises for the police personnel deployed for election duties.
“The Nigeria Police Force has received an impressive commendation from the government of the United States of America. This commendation came from His Excellency, Ambassador James Entwistle, the US ambassador to Nigeria when he paid a courtesy call on the inspector-general of police, IGP Suleiman Abba.
“The US ambassador posited that the visit was in recognition of the superlative performance exhibited by officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force in the just-concluded 2015 general elections. He used the occasion to assure the IGP of the US government’s resolve to partner more with the Police in area of training”.
In his reaction, the police boss assured the ambassador that the commendation would motivate officers and men of the Force in ensuring the delivery of world-class security services in Nigeria.
